What is Flyhidrate?

An Award Winning highly focused functional inflight wellbeing beverage developed in conjunction with the University of Otago to combat the effects of flying at altitude. We term it 'the World's most advanced inflight wellbeing Drink System'.

Using all natural ingredients, it relaxes passengers on takeoff (aiding those that fear flying), assists in preventing DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and provides hydration far superior to that of water, due to dry cabin air.

During their flight Flyhidrate will aid in digestion to alleviate cramping and bloating, start to clean up the free radicals caused by flying at altitude and continue hydrating travellers on their journey.

Finally, on landing, Flyhidrate will re-energise passengers so they can hit the ground running, then signal their body to flush out free radicals so they don’t feel lethargic for days afterwards. All the while, the body remains well hydrated throughout the flight and up to 18 hours after landing! Flyhidrate is formulated to fight the combined effect of all the conditions above, commonly known as Jet Lag.

How does Flyhidrate look after me?

A fully tested and scientifically proven Drink System developed in New Zealand over a five year period in conjunction with the University of Otago's Sport Science and Food Science Departments. Flyhidrate is a three drink system which has been developed to address the various needs the body requires at each stage when flying longhaul at 30,000 feet. One drink cannot do it. Fyhidrate places an emphasis on using natural ingredients to achieve the desired functional benefits required to fight the effects of Jet Lag at different stages of flight.

Is Flyhidrate backed by science?

Due to the collaboration with the University of Otago, not only did we have state-of-the-art science behind the development but also the means to test and study the results as we developed Flyhidrate. One of the University of Otago team members developing Flyhidrate, Dr Nancy Rehrer, had previous experience at NASA developing a rehydration drink for astronauts, so her input into Flyhidrate had a huge impact in it's development. First up, a laboratory-based, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study was conducted using volunteer participants, to examine hydration and related factors during partially-simulated 7 hour flights. Measurements were taken before, during and at the conclusion of the simulated flight session.

Trials were undertaken in the School of Physical Education inside a climatically controlled laboratory, but without the cosmic radiation or mildly-hypoxic exposure that would accompany air travel. Next followed another study in a hyperbaric chamber to mimic the effects of flying at altitude. After that we engaged with 100 plus volunteers on three separate flights from Auckland to Los Angeles, whereby we conducted clinical tests before, during and after the flight to gain insight into the effect Flyhidrate had on those volunteers on a real flight at altitude.

The same study performance revealed that the formulation of Flyhidrate enables the body to remain hydrated far superior to that of water. The studies showed Flyhidrate's ability to naturally encourage a higher fluid retention in the body over a longer period when in a seated position for a length of time.

Can Flyhidrate help me with fewer toilet stops?

So it stands to reason that, not only does Flyhidrate help the body maintain a favourable water balance to stay hydrated, it then has the added benefit of less trips to the toilet due to reduced urine output. A real positive for anyone on a long haul flight, as our study shows a reduced urine output was evident by an average of 35% after taking the first drink - Boarding Pass. This also proved similar after the full 7 hour simulated flight done in the lab.

Why 3 drinks?

Because it just isn’t possible any other way! One drink alone cannot provide all the benefits required. If we didn't deliver the ingredients in such a systematic way to the body, which requires assistance at different stages of a long-haul flight, then we wouldn't be truly fighting the effects of Jet Lag. Some ingredients need to be delivered at specific times to ensure the functional benefits can work at the appropriate time.

Are there any issues with Airport Security?

We’ve got it covered! All packs come with a clear ziplock security bag for convenience. You will breeze through Airport Security (including transit lounges) as long as you place all concentrate vials in the clear ziplock bag provided as they are all well below the 100ml security requirement.

All natural Ingredients

No prescription needed and no harsh chemicals or known side effects. Travel confidently knowing you can trust what you're putting into your body because it has been formulated using natural ingredients, 29 in total, with 18 of them being fully active on the body, working to keep you healthy, happy and hydrated! "Ensures you are adding nothing extra in your body that you do not need". Using natural ingredients comes with its challenges, like achieving the best flavour profiles from some of Nature’s most effective extracts. After extensive trials, 90% of those tested found the drink more than acceptable from a taste perspective, enjoying the benefits that Flyhidrate delivers. So we've created a Drink System that not only works naturally but also tastes great. Not only that, it’s GLUTEN FREE, WHEAT FREE & DAIRY FREE!
